Little "friendship" books - No.1 Map book SOLD

Pat is a new made4aid friend whose working life is dedicated to helping people find fulfilment (www.passion@work.co.uk) and in her spare time she loves making things. In fact, I suspect she is a compulsive maker-of-things, like me - and she is also happy at the thought of making money for a good cause with her creative abilities.

Her first donation is a set of little "friendship books" - I'll be listing them one by one, but keep a look out if you like them and might want to buy more than one!

These delightful and whimsical little miniatures are made from recycled materials as much as possible - old maps, stamps, bits and pieces of paper, ribbon and beads.
They are perfect for little gifts or keepsakes, with or without words which might be added - poems - lists - messages - photos.

If you would like a custom-made book for yourself, a friend, or a doll's house please let us know - we can take specific orders to your requirements!

This book I've called "Map" - for obvious reasons. The covers front and back

are made from a calendar of maps brought back from Italy by a friend, and on the front is a stamp from a childhood stamp album.

This is the largest of the books

and measures approx. 2.5inches/6.5cm wide and 2.75 inches/7cm tall.

The end papers - inside the front and back covers - are from an old road map and include listings for places like Hooe in E. Sussex, Hope under Dinmore in Hereford, Icklingham in Suffolk and Hawkswick in North Yorkshire.

The pages are all blank, and the book has a ribbon bookmark which is dark gold coloured, with a little brass-coloured star bead.

We're starting this auction at only $1.85!

The auction begins at 9am on Saturday 31st October and will end at 9am on Monday 9th November New York time. The highest bidder before that time will win.

Postage would be: UK - $0.64; Europe - $1.30; Worldwide outside Europe - $2.00.
