knitted felted bag - greys & pink SOLD

This bag was knitted using multiple threads of yarn combined together to mix different shades of grey using up odds and ends and left-overs, some yarn I was given when a friend moved house and the pink yarn I admit to buying (new!) because it was the perfect shade to go with the grey.

The bag was knitted by hand and then felted in the washing machine - theres a post on how to do this here, which also has a link to the website where I got the pattern for this bag.

The colour-pattern is mainly stripes with a bit of intarsia - the little blobs - with the yarn stranded across the back of the knitting.

There are two little pockets on the outside, one on each end - knitted and felted as part of the bag, and suitable for a mobile phone, or tickets or... other little things....

The bag is lined with vintage Laura Ashley fabric and there are two internal pockets in the lining.

The bag is finished with a tab and vintage button

The measurements are: about 16 inches/40.5cm across and 10 inches/25.5cm from the top edge to the base. The base measures 16 inches/40.5cm by 5.5inches/14cm.

The handles are 36.5 inches / 93cm long.

Felting is a very ancient textile technique - though far easier and quicker in a washing machine than by hand! - and its very tough. This bag should last and last and cope with wear and tear, and its washable by hand, or in a gentle, cool machine wash.

Bids start at $30.00 (US) please.

Postage would be: UK - $4.40; Europe - $6.25; Worldwide outside Europe - $11.00 airmail, $6.10 surface mail.

Hope to see similar, smaller felted bags in future if possible. Your blue & orange bag from a previous post was gorgeous too!
