Blue/orange flower bag - SOLD

This auction is for a shoulder bag, hand-knitted and then felted in the washing machine.

Its a generous size, with a gusset and with internal and external pockets and with a flower-power design in orange and blue with the colour pattern reversing on the 2 sides.

I've been making a number of these knitted, felted bags - I knit with a number of strands of yarn combined together, some of them charity/thrift shop finds, so its great for using up existing bits and pieces and recycling rather than buying new. Its also fun combining and mixing the colours. This bag was based on this pattern, though I adapted the pattern a bit - you can find a blog post about how I did it here, if you are a knitter and interested in having a go.

(do have a go! its lots of fun!)

It has 2 little external mobile phone/ticket sized pockets, one on each end. These were knitted onto the bag before felting.

The bag is semi-lined with vintage/reclaimed patchwork skirt fabric, which also makes 3 pockets, one large pocket with a button fastening, one medium pocket and a little pocket which was originally a pocket on the skirt.

The bag fastens with a knitted felted tab and vintage button. Felt is very hard wearing, and this bag should go on and on....

Sorry about the colour variation in these photos - the last 3 were taken in bright sunshine. The photos at the top of this post are the best representation of the colours.
