Jasmine's scarfette - silk and wool nuno felt SOLD

This beautiful creation was given by Jasmine, to raise money for Haiti.

It is a Japanese felting technique which Jasmine describes as "laying down wool with silk and helping the wool fibres migrate through the silk so that the two bond and become one".
You can see some other examples over on Jasmine's blog.

Wool and silk are just lovely together, with the light warmth of the wool and the luxury of the silk - it looks and feels light as gossamer but both these fibres are pretty strong and they complement each other beautifully.

And the luxury is added to by the beads, hand-stitched.

What a lovely lovely thing this is. It lifts the heart and makes me think of Spring.

The scarfette measures approximately 30 inches/76cm long and 12 inches/30cm+ wide.

It comes in a specially designed and hand-made re-purposed gift box, painted and decorated with tissue paper and hand-drawn designs.

I'd like to start bids for this at $35 please.

All proceeds except postage costs are going to relief work in Haiti.

The auction begins at 9am on Monday February 8th and will end at 9pm on Sunday 14th Feb., New York time. The highest bidder at that time will win.

Postage would be: UK - $2.50 (1st class); Europe - $2.50 airmail; Worldwide outside Europe - $3.80 airmail.
Airmail worldwide from the UK should take from 5 days.
